We are recruiting a dedicated LSA and Behaviour Mentorto join an independent secondary school for students aged 11 to 19 who will thrive in a small, therapeutic, and nurturing environment. This specialist setting supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a tailored and highly supportive approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively in lessons and daily routines.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to maintain a calm, structured, and safe learning environment.
- Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies in line with student support plans.
- Encourage the development of social skills, emotional resilience, and confidence.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning through consistent, empathetic guidance.
Applicant Suitability
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly advantageous.
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with students.
- Resilience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed.
