Functional Skills Maths Class Teacher SEND Setting

Are you a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher with experience in supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking a Functional Skills Maths Teacher to join a welcoming SEND provision in Welling and make a real difference in students lives.

Role Overview

  • Deliver engaging and accessible Functional Skills Maths lessons (Entry Level to Level 2).
  • Teach and support students aged 6–19 years old with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for a range of needs, including autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and behavioural challenges.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Maths (Functional Skills desirable).
  • A passion for supporting students with SEND, with patience and creativity in your approach.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
