A welcoming and inclusive academy in Enfield is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work within a dedicated SEN unit, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs. The role involves working as part of a small, supportive team in a class of 12 children, providing both learning and personal care support. Pupils range in age from Reception to 9 years old.

The Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will support children with a variety of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN within a specialist SEN unit
  • Assisting with personal care, including toileting and hygiene where required
  • Supporting learning activities in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to deliver tailored support
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional development
  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
