A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. The school has recently established a specialist SEND class to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, and they are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work within the school's specialist SEND class, supporting pupils with a range of needs including autism, speech and language needs, ADHD and communication difficulties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
- Supporting children to access learning through personalised strategies and activities.
- Encouraging pupils' social, emotional and communication development.
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider staff team to deliver individual support plans.
- Creating a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Is patient, caring and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Has a positive, flexible approach and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Is passionate about inclusive education and helping children reach their full potential.
- Has experience supporting pupils with autism or communication needs (desirable but not essential).
