We are currently recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Lambeth on a full-time basis starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA to take on a varied and rewarding role within a supportive school community.
The Role
- In this Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role you will provide PPA cover and lead targeted intervention sessions across the school.
- You will work with all age groups from Nursery to year 6.
- You will work closely with class teachers and support staff to deliver engaging lessons and help raise attainment across a range of subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned lessons to whole classes during teachers’ PPA time.
- Lead small group and one-to-one intervention sessions to support pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure continuity and consistency in learning.
- Contribute to planning, assessment, and classroom management as needed.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development in line with the school’s values.
- Provide class cover when teaching staff are sick/absent.
About You
- Qualified HLTA with a minimum of one year’s experience.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Confident in leading whole classes and delivering engaging lessons.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible, positive, and committed to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

The school benefits from excellent facilities including music rooms, forest school in woodland and a technology suite. Staff have high expectations of pupils and results at the school are consistently good.
