A dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant is required to support a Reception-aged child with behavioural needs in a primary school in Haringey. This role involves providing one-to-one support for a Year 1 pupil who requires consistent, structured support to access learning and manage behaviour successfully. The child can display defiant and challenging behaviour, therefore a calm, patient, and empathetic approach is essential.
You will:
- Provide one-to-one support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
- Support engagement with learning activities, both in and out of the classroom
- Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions with peers
- Implement behaviour strategies in line with school guidance
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach
- Support the child’s emotional regulation and well-being
The school is looking for a confident and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who:
