SEN Teaching Assistant – Camden

The Role

SEN Learning Mentor, responsible for improving the academic standard of students they are selected to work with.

The role covers three major curriculum subjects such as English Literature or Mathematics or within Biology, Physics & Chemistry (KS3-4).

  • Providing one-to‑one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
  • Supporting students in their academic, social, and personal development.
  • Helping students get ready to take upcoming exams.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing students’ progress and adjusting support plans as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience working with secondary age pupils, ideally within mainstream or special school.
  • Graduate background or tuition background.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
