SEMH Teaching Assistant Full-time 8.30am – 4.00pm Primary School Southwark Contract: Immediately – July 2026
The Role
In this role, you will work closely with a pupil requiring intensive, personalised support to access the curriculum and manage their behaviour and emotional wellbeing within the school environment. This position requires a patient, calm and positive individual with proven experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties and additional needs. You will need to be confident in implementing behaviour strategies and following structured support plans.
- Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
- Implementing detailed education and behaviour plans
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviours
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff
- Creating a safe, consistent and nurturing learning environment
An up-to-date restraint training qualification is essential for this role. This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately and running until July 2026, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on a child’s educational journey.
