School Administrator

Contract: Full Time – Monday to Friday
Hours: 09:00–16:00
Start Date: 1st September

Experience: Minimum 1 year of school office experience
DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required
About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced School Administrators to work in schools across London on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school administrator looking for a new role within a supportive school environment. You will provide effective administrative and front-office support, working closely with the School Business Manager, Headteacher and wider school team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
We are looking for organised, reliable and professional administrators who understand the demands of working within a busy school environment and can confidently manage a range of administrative responsibilities.
Please note: We can only accept applications from candidates with a minimum of 1 year’s experience working within a school office and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service .
Key Responsibilities
- Providing general administrative and clerical support to the school
- Managing the school reception and acting as a welcoming first point of contact
- Answering and directing incoming telephone calls and enquiries
- Welcoming visitors, parents, pupils and staff
- Managing access to the school and monitoring visitors
- Processing payments and handling basic financial administration
- Maintaining accurate pupil, staff and school records
- Updating and managing school databases and administrative systems
- Supporting data management and producing reports where required
- Managing room bookings and school calendars
- Preparing letters, correspondence and other school documentation
- Supporting attendance and other routine school administration
- Assisting the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks
- Monitoring and following school policies, procedures and administrative systems
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
- Undertaking other reasonable administrative duties as delegated by the Headteacher or School Business Manager
The Ideal Candidate
- At least 1 year’s experience working in a school office
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A professional and approachable manner
- The ability to work confidently with staff, pupils, parents and visitors
- Good IT and administrative skills
- Experience using school information management systems
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy school environment
- A strong understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding within a school setting
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
