A dynamic primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a qualified and experienced SENCO to join their school on a part-time basis for the summer term.

The Role

As the SENCO, you will work under the direction of the Head Teacher and Deputy Head/Inclusion Lead and will pro-actively lead the SENCO provision and promote the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils. You will take responsibility for coordinating all the support for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) following the wider Trust SEND Policy to ensure all children receive a consistent, high-quality response to meeting their needs in school. Your role will include:

  • Preparing Education, Health and Care Plans and making applications
  • Updating the school's SEND record of need and ensuring that there are excellent records of all pupils' progress and needs
  • Leading annual reviews
  • Providing specialist support for teachers and support staff in the school
  • Communications with parents, outside agencies, and support teams across the borough
  • Organising training for staff so they are aware and confident about how to meet the needs of pupils within the school

This SENCO role is offered on a part-time basis for the academic year, with the school able to offer 3/4 days a week. It is preferred for applicants to hold the SENCO qualification and have experience within a primary school setting.
