Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join its team from September.

This full-time position would suit a confident HLTA who has experience supporting pupils across the primary age range and is comfortable leading lessons, delivering interventions and covering classes when required.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant , you will work closely with class teachers and the senior leadership team to support teaching and learning throughout the school.

Your responsibilities may include

  • Delivering planned lessons to classes during teacher absence
  • Leading small-group interventions in English and maths
  • Supporting phonics and early reading sessions
  • Providing targeted one-to-one support
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
  • Assisting with classroom and behaviour management
  • Preparing learning resources
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers
  • Helping maintain a positive and inclusive primary school environment

The successful candidate may work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on their experience and the needs of the school.

  • Has previous experience working as an HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant
  • Holds an HLTA qualification or has strong class-cover experience
  • Is confident leading lessons and managing a classroom
  • Has good knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Can deliver interventions in phonics, English and maths
  • Has strong communication and behaviour-management skills
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is reliable, adaptable and professional
  • Can commit to a full-time position from September
