A specialist education recruitment agency is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist academy in the Bexley Borough area. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide tailored support that enables students to access learning, develop communication skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
- Supporting students with autism and complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Assisting with personalised learning activities and interventions.
- Using communication strategies such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton to support student engagement and communication.
- Promoting independence, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
- Supporting behaviour positively and consistently in line with individual education plans.

- Previous experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASC) and complex needs.
