A welcoming primary school in Newham is looking for a motivated English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an English graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant looking to gain further school-based experience while supporting pupils through targeted English intervention sessions.
In this English Graduate Teaching Assistant role, you will support pupils across KS1/KS2 through a combination of classroom support and targeted English interventions. You will work closely with class teachers to help raise attainment and build pupils’ confidence in literacy, reading, writing, and comprehension. You will deliver small group and 1:1 intervention sessions for pupils working below expected levels, as well as those capable of achieving greater depth. Teachers will provide guidance, planning, and resources, while you support pupils in developing core English skills, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, grammar, and written communication.
The role will also include supporting teaching and learning within the classroom, assisting pupils during lessons, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
