A highly respected London College are looking for an innovative and organised Curriculum Manager to join them on a temporary basis from February 2026. There is scope for position to convert to a permanent position.
About The Role
- To lead the Science department, which consists of A levels in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education plus the AAQ in Human Biology.
- To monitor and report on student progress and performance.
- To take responsibility for the development, quality and organisation of the area, in particular: the leadership and professional development of teaching and support staff; curriculum development; managing resources and departmental budgets; promoting and monitoring Equal Opportunities for students and staff.
- There will be an expectation to teach one of the subjects in the area, up to 15 hours per week.
As a Curriculum Manager (Science), you will play a pivotal role in driving forward excellence in curriculum, teaching, and learning for students studying science curriculum in the school. Your work will ensure that learners with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as students studying A-level Science, achieve their potential, and are equipped for success.
What you’ll do
- Lead and Innovate: Take charge of curriculum development, planning, and implementing new learning initiatives for a designated group of courses.
- Inspire Teams: Provide curriculum and subject leadership, coordinating with lecturers, team leaders, and support staff to ensure everyone is aligned and informed.
- Shape Learning Experiences: Lead course team meetings, contribute to course reviews, and monitor quality to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote Excellence: Foster a culture of high expectations for learners’ punctuality, attendance, and retention, working closely with Personal Tutors and course teams to achieve College targets.
- Engage Stakeholders: Build effective links with external schools and agencies to secure learner intake and enhance opportunities for students.
- Safeguard Learners: Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all students, maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and external referrers.
- Champion Improvement: Take an active role in reviewing and refining curriculum and teaching strategies to deliver outstanding learning experiences.
This full-time Curriculum Manager for A-Level Science role is based at the Angel College Centre.
