The Role

As a Cover Supervisor you will work in secondary schools covering classes and ensuring students are working on tasks whilst teachers are absent or engaged in other activities and meetings. This is a key role within secondary schools and almost every secondary school will engage cover supervisors to allow teachers to focus on teaching.

Flexible work options

Most Cover Supervisors begin work on a short-term/supply basis. This is ideal if you just want to work a few days in local schools, or want to build experience within the secondary school sector. For more experienced Cover Supervisors, we have full-time contracts available.

What do I need to be a Cover Supervisor?

You do not need any formal qualifications to be a Cover Supervisor, but we do require you to have had some experience working with 11‑18‑year‑olds. You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children and 2 references covering the past two years. If you haven’t got a DBS, we can help you apply for one from the UK Disclosure and Barring Service. Most importantly you need a confident, positive and professional approach to working with young people.
