School Welfare Officer - Secondary School

Location: Borough of Ealing, West London. Part-Time: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 08:30am - 16:00pm Term Time Only. Ongoing Contract Immediate Start.

Job Role

A warm and well-organised Secondary school located in the borough of Ealing is seeking a School Welfare Officer to join their team immediately. This vital role is focused on providing first aid and welfare support to pupils, while contributing to safeguarding, attendance, and administrative functions during the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and welfare support to pupils
  • Manage and report accidents, injuries, and medical incidents
  • Liaise with parents/carers regarding pupil health and wellbeing
  • Monitor and record pupil attendance and punctuality
  • Maintain medical and welfare records using SIMS
  • Support the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as required
  • Coordinate emergency medical care when necessary

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 3 months' experience working in a school setting
  • A valid First Aid qualification ideally
  • Confident using SIMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, caring, and professional manner
  • Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undertake training
