A well-established and supportive secondary school in Maidstone, Kent is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology to join its DT department on a part-time basis, working 2 days per week (0.4).
The school is looking for a committed and motivated teacher who is passionate about Design Technology and Engineering and can inspire pupils through engaging, practical and well-planned lessons.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking for a better work-life balance, as well as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their experience within a supportive department.
The Role
As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will
- Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology and Engineering lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate.
- Deliver challenging and well-organised lessons that support pupils of different abilities.
- Use a range of practical and classroom-based teaching strategies and resources.
- Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and academic progress.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Design Technology department.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and colleagues regarding pupil progress.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the department and school.
- The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate UK-recognised teaching qualification.
- Has a relevant degree in Design Technology, Engineering or a related subject. xgikmsk
