We are looking to welcome a Fee Earner into our Residential Property team. The Fee Earner will be an integral part of the Residential Property team, working closely with fellow fee earners and support staff to deliver a high‑quality, efficient conveyancing service to the firm’s clients. The role sits at the heart of the department’s day‑to‑day operations and plays a key part in maintaining strong relationships with clients, estate agents, lenders and other professionals. We are looking for Residential Property Fee Earners for our Basingstoke and Farnborough offices.
About the Role
The successful candidate will contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge, assisting colleagues where appropriate and helping to ensure that files progress smoothly and consistently in line with departmental standards and service levels. The role involves the day‑to‑day management of a residential property caseload, handling matters from initial instruction through to completion and post‑completion. The Fee Earner will take responsibility for progressing transactions in a proactive and organised manner, ensuring that clients are kept informed, risks are managed appropriately and deadlines are met. Working within established systems and procedures, the Fee Earner will balance technical accuracy with a strong focus on client care, managing competing priorities in a busy conveyancing environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion and post‑completion
- Progressing transactions efficiently, including reviewing contracts, raising and answering enquiries, and managing exchange and completion
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors to ensure smooth progression of matters by providing clear, timely updates and practical advice throughout the transaction
- Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, lender and AML requirements
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date file records using the firm’s case management systems
- Managing deadlines and competing priorities in a busy conveyancing environment
- Handling more complex matters depending on experience
To be successful for this position, you must have / be:
- Solicitor / Licensed Conveyancer / Legal Executive
- A minimum of 2 years PQE
