A well-established, fast-growing manufacturer and installer of bespoke windows, doors and conservatories, is looking to bring in a senior operations executive presence to help develop the way it runs and support the next phase of growth. They're looking for someone who's worked in an ambitious, growing business before and knows what it takes to help scale one - both by driving sales and by building the processes that let growth stick. You'll join the existing team, get stuck into the day-to-day, and bring the kind of commercial and operational experience that helps a business like this take its next step.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the existing team on measuring, pricing, quoting and sales - adding capacity and pace to a busy operation.
  • Help drive sales performance: enquiry handling, follow-up, conversion, and customer communication.
  • Bring experience of what's worked elsewhere - suggest better ways of working, reporting, and process where it helps the business grow.
  • Build visibility for the owner on pipeline, conversion, and turnaround times, so decisions can be made faster.
  • Get involved in the measuring function, helping keep pace with demand.
  • Support consistency in pricing and quoting as volumes grow.
  • Spot opportunities to make the business run more smoothly as it scales, and help implement them.
  • Become someone the owner can increasingly rely on to help run and grow the business.

Person specification

  • Must have - experience in an ambitious, fast-growing SME - manufacturing, joinery, construction products, home improvement, or another made-to-measure/project-based business.
  • A track record of helping a business grow - through sales, through better processes, or both.
  • Comfortable getting stuck in alongside an existing team.
  • Experience dealing with both a technical/field function (surveying, site measuring, installation scheduling) and a commercial function (sales, pricing, quoting).
  • Process-minded - instinctively spots what could work better and gets on with fixing it.
  • Hands-on and comfortable in an SME environment - no layers of support underneath this role.
  • Commercially astute; understands margin, pricing, and the customer sales journey.
  • Confident, credible communicator with customers, trade, and the wider team.

£40-60k per annum depending on experience plus benefits.
