Our client is a well‑established organisation seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales growth across the East Anglia region. Position Overview

As Business Development Manager, you will take full ownership of the sales process, from identifying new business opportunities through to securing contracts with clients. You will work across both public and private sector markets, building strong client relationships and developing tailored solutions that meet their specific needs. Your work will directly impact the organisation's growth trajectory, as you will be responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding the customer base, and contributing to the company's long‑term success across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect new clients within target market segments, including public and private sector organisations
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve product and service sales targets
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential clients, showcasing features, benefits and value
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales campaigns, promotions and lead generation activities
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and contracts, negotiating terms and pricing to close deals
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports, tracking sales activities, customer interactions and market trends
  • Work with cross‑functional teams including product development, operations and customer support to ensure smooth processes
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows and networking events to expand networks and identify opportunities
  • Present sales reports, metrics and recommendations to senior management to support decision‑making

Requirements

  • Proven experience in solution‑oriented sales environments with track record of winning large‑scale projects
  • Ability to manage the full 360 sales cycle from initial contact through face‑to‑face client meetings
  • Experience selling across multiple sectors to diverse client bases
  • Strong relationship‑building and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, reporting and CRM systems
  • Self‑motivated with ability to work independently and meet ambitious targets
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Cambridgeshire or East Midlands region
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to internal offices

Basic salary of ÂŁ45,000 with uncapped commission structure (OTE ÂŁ80,000 - ÂŁ90,000)

Annual company‑wide discretionary bonus
