Basic Function

Phillips 66 EAME Commercial group is actively involved in the trading of renewable feedstocks, fuels and the associated renewable credits in the UK and Europe as well as a range of paper derivative products such as swaps, futures and options. The Operator will be joining a high performing team responsible for coordinating renewable feedstock and fuel movements associated with our global renewables obligations and assets, as well as third party physical opportunity trading in the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate cargo vessel/barge/container/truck movements and Commercial Storage operations for deliveries to and from affiliates and third-party customers. This may include blending activity at any one of our storage facilities
  • Liaise closely with our traders and all other internal departments to assist in the planning and optimisation of our cargo portfolio
  • Manage operations associated with renewables business growth, such as vegetable oils
  • Work closely with our sustainability and compliance group to ensure chain of custody and sustainability characteristics are managed and optimised on all cargo movements
  • Responsible for managing planned movements and promptly inputting movement data into the Trading System, maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy and integrity.
  • Create value for P66 through optimising and efficiently managing the operations of our trading activity, including vessel/barge and in-storage activity
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with internal and external customers on operational requirements and any associated issues
  • As requested, assist with implementation of corporate and/or compliance initiatives/procedures for the Trading and Operations group, e.g. document retention management or Business Continuity Planning.
  • Assist with implementation and compliance to regulatory requirements, e.g. Tax rules and REACH regulation
  • Being contactable 24/7
Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria
  • Hold the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdomwithout restrictions or the role you are applyng for meets the criteria for employer sponsorship
  • Basic knowledge / understanding of renewable fuels markets
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, counterparties, suppliers and consultants
  • Collaborative team player with ability to work constructively within a very close and often demanding team-working environment
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
Preferred Skills
  • Prior Operations experience, ideally biofuel blending operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to make real-time commercial decisions that have a significant financial impact both independently and as part of a commercial team
  • Understanding of the characteristics of renewables feedstocks and/or products in terms of production and product demand including an appreciation of specifications
  • Knowledge of marine issues pertaining to the movement of renewables feeds and/or products

Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe. In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers. The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points. In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.

Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG. JET supplies some of the UK\'s growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations. Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
