Job Description

The Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance activities on assigned HVAC and Building projects and equipment. They will be responsible for adherence to maintenance and reliability work processes in alignment with asset integrity and reliability strategies. They will ensure that their own work and that of other Phillips 66 employees and contractors is carried out efficiently and to a high quality. It is imperative for our work that the technician can follow electrical schematic drawings precisely. Additionally, being adept at electrical fault finding is vital to ensure our operations run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully diagnose physical cause of failure in HVAC/Refrigeration and building equipment. Feeds forward continuous improvement ideas/reliability improvements to Buildings Engineer for consideration.
  • Ensures quality repairs & understanding cause, with Zero re-work.
  • Ensures the most efficient and effective approach to work execution is taken.
  • Ensures PPM reports are correctly & timely completed with quality information.
  • Ensures that safety is paramount in all aspects of the work execution, inc permit compliance, risk assessments, Material Safety Data Sheet, take time, method statements (as applicable.).
  • Drives changes to Planned, Preventative Maintenance through Supervision.
  • Perform E/P1 repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide performance inspections to Buildings Engineer on equipment to bring them up to optimal performance.
  • Repairs and replacement of all electrical water heaters and boilers.
  • Gas Toxic damper repairs and replacement.
  • Repairs to kitchen catering equipment.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions.
  • Discipline qualification (City & Guilds, S/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Qualification in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning.
  • Qualification in F-Gas.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Ability to follow electrical schematic drawings precisely.
  • Adept at electrical fault finding.
  • Demonstrated plant maintenance experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Team Player.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in the Petrochemical industry.

The Humber Refinery is playing its part of the UK’s decarbonisation efforts.

As a part of the UK Government’s net zero ambition, the Humber Refinery is on a journey to become the Refinery of the Future. With proposed plans for a number of projects including to implement a first-of-a-kind FCC carbon capture project, the Humber Refinery is part of Humber Zero, a world-scale concept to reduce UK industry carbon emissions, saving up to 8 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030 from the Immingham industrial area.

On top of this, the Humber Refinery is the UK’s only refiner producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel at scale. It is also the only European facility producing battery anode coke, which forms a critical component for lithium-ion batteries used in electrical vehicles and in consumer electronics. Our current production of battery anode coke is equivalent to placing 1.3 million EVs on the road every year, and we are developing multiple projects to expand this capability.
