We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in a 3-6 month paid intern opportunities at our site in Plymouth, MN. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.
Your role: Join our high-performing Software Engineering team within the Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) Software R&D group. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will collaborate closely with experienced engineers on various facets of software development, including design, implementation, code analysis, and automated testing of our IVUS Clinical Imaging Application. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge medical devices that enhance clinical workflow efficiency for physicians and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a software development team member to define the scope of work for the IVUS application that is achievable within the summer period.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the current software development infrastructure for the IVUS application.
- Apply prior programming knowledge and project experience to effectively plan, execute, and test assigned software development tasks.
- Engage as an active member of the scrum team, contributing alongside the Product Owner, software engineers, and testers, and actively participate in agile scrum/SAFe ceremonies.
- Fulfill all required training necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality management system standards.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation at the end of the internship summarising the work completed over the summer.

- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with programming languages like C++, Java, C#, Python.
- Basic understanding of source control management tools like GitHub.
- Basic understanding of agile development methodology.
- Good problem solving and debugging skills.
- Team player with good communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
- Willing and capable of working on-site in the office at our Plymouth, MN site.

How we work together: We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This is an office role.

Philips Transparency Details: The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 to $36.00, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
Additional Information: US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future. Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Plymouth, MN. This requisition is expected to stay active for 45 days but may close earlier if a successful candidate is selected or business necessity dictates.
