The purpose of this Field Service Engineer is to support the technical needs of Philips Imaging customers and customer service partners. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing advanced imaging equipment, working both independently and as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate at an advanced technical level to provide expert advice & solutions to customers and colleagues.
  • Provide field‑based and remote technical support in line with relevant training and experience.
  • Carry out corrective, preventative, installation, and field change order activities on complex healthcare systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hardware and software system failures using established procedures.
  • Determine the most cost‑effective repair/solution to minimise customer downtime.
  • Actively participate in an ongoing rotation with the Field Service Engineer team, offering customers direct remote support in a 5‑by‑7 working pattern.

Qualifications

  • HNC (NVQ Level 3 or higher) or Degree in Electro‑engineering or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Experienced logical problem solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in carrying out corrective and preventative works for Imaging Systems devices and equipment desirable.
  • Ability to process knowledge across multi‑modality and diverse product ranges.
  • Recognise new technologies and adapt to daily challenges.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Competent in IT/Network diagnosis, system connectivity, and Remote service desirable.

Other Requirements

  • The successful candidate will ideally be based in the Newcastle, Durham or Darlington area.
  • Due to the role working in the healthcare environment, a standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) criminal record check will be required for this role.
