Philips Field Service Engineering (FSE) Apprentice

Note - we have positions available in each of the above areas. We are flexible in terms of where exactly you are based however it will be required to be within one of the above mentioned areas.
Your role:

You will be a part of a multi-modality team of Medical engineers working within the Imaging System sector.
As a Field Service Engineering (FSE) Apprentice, your role underpins our technical future. You will be assisting Engineers, learning in real life situations and gaining life skills which will develop you towards a future in medical engineering. You will be a key member of a close-knit team, thriving via a “First time right” mentality and working across multi-modalities, establishing your value across the entire team.
You will work with engineers to carry out corrective and preventative maintenance on healthcare diagnostic equipment and systems. You will also ensure our customers’ future equipment investments are with Philips, through the delivery of best-in-class service levels.

You’re right for this role if:
- You are GCSE standard educated, minimum of 5 GCSE grades 9–4 (A*-C) or equivalent including a minimum of a grade C/5 in Maths and English. A GCSE grade C/5 or above in Physics is also desirable.
- Minimum of 2 A levels, in a technical subject and/or BTECH in Engineering or similar
- An interest in either Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
- Full, clean driver’s license essential

Recruitment Process:
- All applications should be submitted through the Government apprenticeship portal.
- Please note: all applicants will be required to attend a pre-entry interview and aptitude testing with our training provider before an application can be progressed. This will be in addition to an interview with the Philips Apprentice Recruiter.
- Following this, successful candidates will then be invited to an assessment centre W/C 11th May 2026. You must be available to attend in person.
Things to consider:
- As this is a field-based role, candidates will need to be willing to travel to hospitals throughout the specific area, flexibility will be required in terms of work location. Any related travel costs will be fully covered by Philips.
- You will be fully supported by a Philips Engineer at all times.
- Candidates must have a full, clean UK driver’s license due to the nature of the travel required.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check (criminal check) given the healthcare nature of the work.
