We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at the Southcote Centre (part of Philip Southcote School), based at Epsom and Ewell High School, within the Bourne Education Trust. Our HLTAs are responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners.

Details:

  • Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Southcote Centre, Epsom and Ewell High School, Ruxley Lane, West Ewell, Ewell, Surrey
  • Contract: Term time, temporary. This role is linked to funding for a named student.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00-15.30, 37 weeks per year.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver 1:1 support throughout the school day in both specialist and mainstream settings
  • Implement structured behavioural, communication and sensory strategies as directed by professionals
  • Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils

Requirements include:

  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification
