Teaching Assistant in Esher

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team at Woodlands School, as part of our satellite provision based at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Esher.

About Woodlands School: Woodlands School, part of Bourne Education Trust, is an outstanding special school based in Leatherhead, Surrey. Our educational approach focuses on preparation for life, with communication and literacy at the heart of everything we do - promoting independence, community inclusion and a curiosity about the world. Our satellite provision in Esher caters for pupils who are autistic and have learning difficulties, offering them a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where they can thrive.

Details:

• Location: This role is based at Woodlands satellite site, Cranmere Primary School, Esher, Surrey with occasional travel across East Surrey and to Woodlands School (Leatherhead).
• Hours: 29hrs and 15 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, term time only.
• Contract: Part time. Permanent and fixed-term contracts of 1 year available.
• Responsible to: Class Teacher.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils.
• Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning.
• Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need.
• Promote and support the development of pupils’ social and emotional needs.

Requirements include:

• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification).
• Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development.
