As a Video Editing Lead for Global Comms, you will lead on the editing of video content across pmi.com, pmiscience.com, and our social channels. Your films will support major campaigns and events throughout the year. Working within a small, in-house production team and managing the video editing specialist, you will bring with you a solid foundation in traditional film editing techniques. You will also have a proven knowledge of Generative AI and be able to mentor the team in current techniques as well as future trends in this ever-evolving space. Furthermore, your team will ensure the secure storage and cataloguing of footage for all in-house editing and distribution.
Key Accountabilities
- Video editing and post-production: Responsible for taking the lead in driving edits from concept through to delivery, across a broad range of styles to meet the creative requirements and ensure legal compliance throughout the process.
- Generative AI: Leading on implementation and best practice when it comes to Generative AI in film. You will be responsible for mentoring the team in both current techniques and future trends in this ever-evolving space.
- Creative collaboration: Collaborating with stakeholders, freelancers, and other members of the Global Comms team to understand project goals, creative concepts and deliver accordingly. Contribute ideas for visual storytelling, shot composition, and overall video aesthetics to deliver the best results. Effectively communicate with clients and other key stakeholders (internal and external) to align the video content with expected outcomes.
- Project management: Effective Project Management skills are a must, working with the wider Global Comms team to manage timelines and deadlines for multiple video projects at any one time, ensuring timely delivery and demonstrating accountability. Your team will organize and maintain video files, project assets, and documentation as well as legal sign-off. Establish and develop efficient and effective editing workflows, drive efficiencies and find solutions to help avoid (or resolve) any post-production issues.
- Filming and pre-production: Working with the team to plan and execute video shoots both in the UK and abroad, live and pre-recorded.
- Distribution: Act as the gatekeeper for video footage, ensuring content can be distributed within other teams and agencies for wider use where appropriate and legally compliant. Support global markets with assets and transcreations where needed.
- Troubleshooting and Future Trends: The ability to maintain and organize our in-house video equipment is preferable. Troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during shooting and editing. Staying up to date on the latest video production and editing technologies and tools is essential.
Qualifications
We’re Looking For Someone With:
- Education: bachelor’s degree in film, Video Production, or a related field and/or significant experience working within the media industry with a clear, accountable track record of work.
- Work Experience: 10+ years of traditional video editing experience, with the recent addition of using Generative AI in post-production. Proven experience in editing high-level output, across a range of formats/styles and working on multiple, cross-functional projects.
- Other Skills: Ability to design and create GFX for fully animated films, infographics, title sequences, logo stings, visual FX and compositing. Construct and weave narrative for story-based edits. Expert knowledge of video editing techniques with a high level of skill in motion graphics, SFX and color correction. A proven track record for producing creative and intuitive visual content for publication across multiple platforms. Excellent skills and knowledge of (at least but not limited to) Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davinci Resolve. Strong level of ability in sound editing, sound design, track sourcing, and sound mixing. Proven ability to lead and mentor fellow editors with a methodical approach, immaculate project management skills with excellent housekeeping and attention to detail. Proven track record for producing creative and intuitive visual content for publication across a range of publications, not just traditional corporate edits. Ability to design and create GFX for fully animated films, infographics, title sequences, logo stings, visual FX and compositing. Construct and weave compelling narrative arcs for story-based edits, create stylish montages for promos and see any project through from first cut to sound mix, color grading and final delivery. Proven track record of Generative AI and be able to guide not only our team but potentially the wider business in this area while keeping us compliant. Ability to assist with shoots and propose ideal shot lists for the end edit. Knowledge of best-practice for data wrangling and managing the capture of high-quality footage that aligns with the creative vision and goals of the project lead is a must.
