This role involves directing and overseeing the development and execution of multiple strategic crisis management programs, advising senior management on critical business and reputational challenges, and securing buy-in across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crisis Management: Create and implement strategies to anticipate, plan for, and respond to crises at various levels, developing communication materials and ensuring alignment from SMEs. Provide problem-solving advice to senior management, especially in unfamiliar or incomplete information scenarios. Advise regional and functional management on issues critical to strategic objectives, securing necessary buy-in.
  • Risk Management: Lead risk management and communication planning around issues and campaigns, developing mitigation plans. Support reputation risk programs through research and guidance on strategic initiatives. Identify potential risks proactively, oversee social/media monitoring, and develop communication strategies, including liaising for issue resolution.
  • Training: Lead global crisis training and exercises for Market Management Teams, developing ongoing professional development exercises. Innovate practices to enhance crisis management impact.
  • Functional Development: Manage the crisis management database and SharePoint site, including permissions. Contribute to reporting for senior leadership. Develop playbooks for specific scenarios for dissemination to market teams.
Candidate Profile
  • 8-12 years of experience in risk, crisis management, or crisis communications.
  • Ability to operate professionally and calmly under stress with multiple stakeholders.
  • Autonomous, creative, and capable of managing complex situations with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent writing skills to simplify complex messages.
  • Experience in regulated environments like tobacco or pharma industries.
  • Fluent or native English; additional languages are a plus.
