About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Capability Development Manager to shape and deliver the future capability agenda for our Commercial Functions, spanning Brand, Key Accounts, Category, Digital, Consumer Experience, and Engagement. In this high-impact role, you will design and execute a forward-thinking learning strategy that accelerates performance, builds leadership capability, and equips teams to thrive in a fast-evolving commercial landscape. Acting as a strategic partner to senior leaders, you will translate business needs into powerful learning experiences that close skill gaps, drive behavioural change, and deliver measurable results.

You bring deep expertise in learning design, adult development, coaching, and capability frameworks such as 70-20-10. You are passionate about developing high-performing teams and can demonstrate ROI through data-driven insights and practical application in the flow of work. This is a full-time position based at our Hammersmith office, with a minimum on-site requirement of three days per week!

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Capability Development
    • Partner with Commercial leaders to define, prioritise, and deliver capability plans aligned with business strategy.
    • Own the end-to-end design and rollout of learning journeys for teams including Key Accounts, Digital, Consumer Experience, and Category.
    • Build beyond onboarding, creating advanced capability pathways tailored to each team's needs.
    • Co-create learning interventions to strengthen cross-functional collaboration and digital-first competencies.
  • Insight-Led Learning
    • Conduct competency assessments and skill gap analyses, translating insights into targeted development solutions.
    • Spend time embedded with Commercial teams to understand real-life challenges and emerging needs - including digital transformation and e-commerce trends.
    • Ensure learning is grounded in meaningful insight and aligned to future commercial capability.
  • Leadership Coaching & Culture
    • Act as a trusted coach and advisor to Commercial leaders, supporting leadership growth and team development.
    • Embed inclusive practices and psychological safety across learning experiences.
    • Collaborate closely with other Capability Development Managers to share insights and strengthen organisational learning maturity.
  • Innovation & Impact
    • Continually enhance learning modules using innovative tools, digital solutions, and modern learning methods.
    • Measure learning effectiveness and ROI through qualitative and quantitative insights; present outcomes to senior leadership.
    • Manage budgets responsibly and ensure compliance with PMI's standards and integrity principles.

What We Are Looking For

  • CIPD Level 5+ (or equivalent qualification) with proven experience designing and delivering L&D strategies at scale.
  • Strong background in capability building within Commercial functions, including leadership development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated track record of connecting learning outcomes to business performance and measurable ROI.
  • In-depth understanding of adult learning theories, coaching methodologies, and digital learning technologies.
  • A self-starter with strong strategic thinking, execution excellence, and a passion for developing people.

You will be required to have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
