Philip Kingsley is a leading premium haircare brand built on more than 65 years of Trichological expertise. We combine science, innovation and a deep understanding of hair and scalp health to create award-winning products trusted by customers and professionals around the world.

As we enter an exciting period of growth, we are looking for a commercially driven and ambitious Trade Marketing Manager to join our Sales Team.

The role

Reporting directly to the Global Sales Director, the Trade Marketing Manager will translate Philip Kingsley's brand strategy, innovation pipeline and marketing priorities into compelling customer propositions and high-impact trade activation across retail, digital, salon and specialist channels.

Acting as a key bridge between Sales and Marketing, you will develop category-led recommendations, customer selling stories, launch toolkits and activation plans that enable stronger retailer conversations, improve execution and support profitable commercial growth.

This is a highly collaborative role for someone who can combine strategic thinking, commercial analysis and creative execution. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities and working hands-on in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

Category and commercial strategy

  • Develop category growth recommendations that support customer objectives and Philip Kingsley's commercial priorities.
  • Use consumer, customer, market and competitor insight to identify category trends, whitespace opportunities and potential growth drivers.
  • Support annual commercial planning, joint business planning and range reviews with clear category analysis and recommendations.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure innovation, campaign and channel priorities reflect customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the premium beauty and haircare landscape, sharing relevant trends and implications with the wider business.

Customer selling stories and sell-in excellence

  • Develop compelling sell-in presentations for new product launches, brand campaigns and strategic commercial initiatives.
  • Translate consumer insight, brand strategy and product credentials into customer-relevant propositions with a clear commercial opportunity.
  • Create customer-ready presentations, launch toolkits, range-review materials and sales resources that are persuasive, accurate and easy to use.
  • Build selling stories that clearly articulate category trends, growth potential, points of difference and value for the customer.
  • Support key retailer meetings, annual reviews and strategic commercial discussions where trade marketing expertise is required.
  • Equip National Account Managers with the tools, insight and confidence to lead more strategic category conversations.

Trade marketing and channel activation

  • Develop integrated trade activation plans across retail, digital, salon and specialist channels, tailored to each channel's needs.
  • Translate brand campaigns and launches into clear customer-facing plans and actionable briefs for internal teams and external partners.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Digital, Education and Creative teams to ensure trade activity supports the wider brand strategy.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of point-of-sale materials, retailer assets, digital content and other customer-facing collateral.
  • Manage trade marketing and retailer activation calendars, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately, on time and to a high standard.
  • Support the execution of retailer events, trade shows, education initiatives, gifts with purchase and other customer activations.
  • Ensure launches and campaigns are executed consistently across channels while allowing for customer-specific requirements.

Retail, digital and professional channel excellence

  • Review in-store and online customer execution, identifying opportunities to improve brand visibility, conversion and commercial impact.
  • Monitor how Philip Kingsley is presented across retail, salon, specialist and digital environments.
  • Recommend improvements to merchandising, navigation, communication and activation approaches using evidence and best practice.
  • Share learnings and successful activation principles across customers and channels to raise the overall standard of execution.
  • Help protect brand consistency while ensuring plans remain relevant to each customer, format and channel.

About you

You will be a commercially astute and creatively minded trade marketer with a genuine passion for premium beauty, haircare and retail. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in Trade Marketing, Category Development, Shopper Marketing or Commercial Marketing within beauty, haircare, personal care or consumer goods.
  • A strong understanding of premium retail, digital, professional and specialist distribution channels.
  • Experience developing customer presentations, launch toolkits, sell-in materials and channel activation plans.
  • The ability to interpret customer, market and sales data and translate insight into a persuasive commercial recommendation.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of category growth drivers, customer needs, budgets and return on investment.
  • Excellent written communication, presentation and storytelling skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong project-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to influence colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Education, Digital and Creative teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a high level of personal accountability.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Experience within premium beauty or haircare, or working directly with major omnichannel retailers, would be particularly advantageous.
