Purpose of the Role: To carry out on-site testing, sampling, and monitoring of construction materials and processes, ensuring compliance with technical standards, client specifications, and health and safety regulations. The Site Technician plays a key role in supporting quality assurance and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site-based testing of materials such as concrete, aggregates, soils, and asphalt in accordance with UKAS-accredited procedures and relevant standards.
- Collect and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
- Record and report test results accurately using designated systems or forms.
- Liaise with site personnel, clients, and internal teams to coordinate testing schedules and requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate field equipment, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Support senior staff in resolving technical issues and maintaining quality standards.
Daily Tasks
- Perform routine site visits for testing and sampling.
- Complete field reports and submit data promptly.
- Ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use.
