Site Technician – Preston/ Lancashire – Field Based

Location:Preston, Lancashire (Field-based, with nationwide travel)

XAIS-PTS Ltd is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and technically minded individuals to join our growing team as a Site Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting on-site testing, inspections, and sampling of structures and pavements
• Operating survey vehicles and specialised testing equipment
• Managing and verifying data, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of survey results
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and industry regulations
• Performing minor repairs and troubleshooting equipment on-site as needed
• Documenting daily activities, reporting, and maintaining clear communication with the team
• Maintaining and servicing vehicles/equipment as required
• You’ll travel extensively, often working away from home, including overnight stays, night shifts, and weekends as projects demand

Person Specification

Must-Have:

• Full clean UK driving licence
• Willingness and ability to work nationwide and regularly be away from home
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

Ideal to Have:

• Experience in sampling, testing, or highway surveying
• Valid CSCS card
• Technical proficiency with survey equipment, computers, and data management systems

Salary & Benefits

• Competitive salary between £27,000 – £32,000 (depending on experience).
