About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team based at Heathrow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of laboratory tests, assist in maintaining quality standards, and ensure the smooth running of laboratory operations. Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Accurately input test results and ensure data integrity.
- Laboratory Testing: Perform various soil and concrete tests while following strict quality procedures.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality department to arrange calibrations and report any equipment issues.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards of laboratory practice, cleanliness, and safety procedures.
- Teamwork & Independence: Work effectively as part of a team, with the initiative to carry out tasks independently.
- UKAS Audits: Assist with audits and ensure in-house testing meets turnaround time expectations.
- General Lab Duties: Perform any other tasks as assigned by your senior or lab manager.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn, reliable, and has great attention to detail. Your ability to work with both independence and as part of a team will ensure success in this role.
Experience & Skills Required
- Education: GCSE level or above with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Experience in Geotechnical & Construction Materials Testing is an advantage.
- Good oral, written, and numeracy skills.
- Familiarity with safe working practices in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong observational skills and an eye for detail.
- Physically fit to handle the manual aspects of the role, such as carrying and moving samples.
