Due to regional demand and team changes, NAPIT is seeking an Electrical Field Officer to support members across the Guildford and South Coast region. This is an excellent opportunity to use your industry experience to uphold and improve electrical compliance standards. The Role
As an Electrical Field Officer, you will carry out assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with:
- Competent Person Schemes (CPS)
- Electrical Assessment Schemes (EAS)
- Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) standards
You will play a key role in supporting members undertaking Solar PV and Electrical Energy Storage (EESS) installations, ensuring work meets current regulations and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct compliance assessments and technical inspections of registered members.
- Assess ongoing approvals for continued registration, improvement actions, or rejections.
- Support assessments relating to Solar PV and Electrical Energy Storage systems.
- Plan and manage a structured schedule of regional site visits in coordination with the scheduling team.
- Assess new applicants for scheme registration.
- Provide technical guidance on BS 7671 and related electrical standards.
- Maintain strong professional relationships while delivering a high level of customer service.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and health & safety requirements.
Who We Are Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
- Strong experience in Solar PV and Electrical Energy Storage (EESS)
- Solid understanding of current electrical regulations and compliance frameworks
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently in a field‑based role
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience within an assessment, auditing, or compliance role
- Membership with a professional body (e.g., IET)
