Role Description

This is a full-time Chartered Building Surveyor role based in our central Bristol office. The position involves undertaking commercial building surveys, visiting client properties, and preparing professional reports on building condition, risks, and defects.

Day-to-day tasks include preparing specifications and schedules of work, general building surveying and advising clients on suitable remedial and improvement solutions, and landlord and tenant work such as preparing and negotiating dilapidation claims and schedules of condition.

Qualifications

• Strong building surveying skills, including experience in commercial Building Surveying and technical reporting.
• Proficiency in conducting Condition Surveys and preparing Feasibility Studies to support client decision-making.
• Experience in Contract Management, including overseeing works on site, administering either JCT or NEC contracts, and managing project documentation.
• Knowledge of Dilapidations, including preparing schedules, advising on liabilities, and negotiating outcomes.
• Professional qualification such as MRICS (Chartered Building Surveyor) or working towards chartered status.
• Familiarity with UK building regulations, construction standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Competence in using relevant surveying software, Microsoft Office, and digital tools for report writing and project management.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
