To strengthen its European sales team PHC Europe B.V. is looking for an Area Sales Manager in UK.

Location

Home office based โ€“ candidates must reside within the sales area and within 1 hours travel into central London.

Office in Runcorn

Working Region

London (south from the Thames)/ South East.

There is a requirement for periodic travel within the UK or abroad to attend company meetings or events.

Main purpose of the job

The successful candidate will take on the responsibility for sales and first line support of our range of biomedical laboratory products to an established customer base within a designated sales territory together with increasing business opportunities to new customers and growth from the launch of new products.

Organisation

The Area Sales Manager will report directly to the UK Business Manager and will be part of the UK Sales team.

Responsibilities and core tasks

  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly & annual sales targets, and year on year growth, through the establishment and maintenance of customer relationships within a variety of markets across the sales area.
  • Providing first line customer support in both product, service and business related matters.
  • Utilising all forms of communication with customers with a priority on direct face to face customer visits.
  • Maintaining networks with customers including exhibitions, seminars, conferences and other events.
  • Giving presentations and / or assisting with technical training to customers.
  • Providing regular reports to the UK Business Manager.
  • Routinely updating and maintaining the customer relationship management system.
  • Participation in regular sales team meetings.
  • Participation in product training sessions.
  • Undertaking corporate training sessions.

  • Has shown a strong drive in the way he / she has managed the territory.

External contacts

  • Customers / end users within the sales region
  • Represents PHC Europe to the customer

Internal contacts

  • Works closely with the UK Business Manager and keeps him well informed about the activities to achieve unit / volume goals
  • Works closely with the Sales team in UK
  • Works with the European Marketing and Product Management Team

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate/s will be a Graduate, (or MSc., or PhD) in Life Sciences and with an appetite for gaining sales and developing new business within various commercial environments with the application of their scientific knowledge. Candidates should exhibit good commercial awareness and ideally have at least two yearsโ€™ experience in life science sales in an external customer facing role. Applicants should be self-driven and motivated to achieve results.

The position includes the provision of a company car & candidates must hold a full UK driving license.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.

Job requirements:

  • The candidate must hold a Degree in the Life Sciences.
  • Experience in a customer facing sales position with strong commercial awareness.
  • Technical knowledge is an advantage.
  • Computer software skills including Microsoft Office, maintaining CRM database, record keeping and planning skills.
  • Candidate interacts and communicates easily on all levels.
  • Candidate can organize himself / herself and take on the responsibility of managing their own time.
  • Energetic, driven, result oriented and capable in building strong relationship and networking.
  • Pioneer and tenacious.
  • Ability to work together in a constructive way with colleagues and customers.
  • Languages: English native speaker.
  • Hold a valid full UK Drivers Licence.

Training & education

roduct training will be provided and, subject to experience, commercial training will be arranged.
