We are seeking a dedicated NMC registered nurse in the Leicester area to join our healthcare team. The Clinical Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care and administering a range of medications. As more and more patients are treated outside a traditional hospital setting, the role of the home care Nurse is developing. We work in a variety of environments such as clinics, residential accommodation and patients' own homes, and even at schools or work environments. You will need to be kind, compassionate and caring with a desire to provide an excellent patient experience and safe and effective care.
Main duties of the job:
- Perform patient observations and ensure that any patient is fit to proceed with their treatment
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the medical team
- Provide compassionate support to the patient and family
- Educate patients and their families to promote understanding and independence
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams ensuring that patient safety is paramount
Requirements:
- Current NMC registration
- Experience of administering S/C, IM or IV medications
- SACT experience
- Valid UK driving licence
- Willingness to work autonomously
Experience:
- Substantial post-registration experience in a clinical setting
- Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Self-motivated and energetic approach, showing interest in understanding the business and industry
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or out of hospital services
- Knowledge of out of hospital services and pharmacy services
- Knowledge of homecare/out-of-hospital systems and practices
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with a current NMC pin and Nursing Qualification
- Commitment to CPD and engagement in training/development relevant to the role
- Attainment of a recognized chemotherapy qualification
