We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dispensary Pharmacist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with all legal, ethical, and professional standards. You will play a key role in supporting patient care, working closely with healthcare professionals, and providing expert advice on medicines.

Main duties of the job:

  • Responsible Pharmacist on Rota for the registered premises.
  • Accuracy and clinical checking of prescriptions for wide specialist areas of interest including oncology, immunotherapy, rare disease states.
  • Coordinating and planning the dispensary activity and supporting the wider team.
  • Procurement and management of supplies of compounded and specialist medications with support.
  • Supporting the patient services team in giving advice to patients, triaging clinical decisions and following clinical pathways with further support from a wider team of pharmacists and nurse specialists.
  • Key stakeholder in allowing patients access to novel treatments via clinical trials, Early access schemes, Post trial access schemes etc.

Job responsibilities:

This is a diverse role where you will gain exposure to prescription screening and act as responsible pharmacist as part of a rota in our dispensary. You will work with other Pharmacists, Accuracy Checking Technicians and Dispensary Assistants.

Person Specification:

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a pharmacy as a registered pharmacist or pre-registration pharmacist.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of hospital prescription templates.
  • Knowledge of Aseptic Compounding.
  • Knowledge of Homecare systems and practices.

Qualifications:

  • GPhC Registered Pharmacist.
  • Commitment to CPD and engagement in training/development relevant to the role.
