About The Role

We’re looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our team in Cramlington to support the efficient execution of key local commercial processes to drive effective communication between the site, customers and business development teams. As well as to support the Commercial Manager with proposals and RFPs from prospective customers with scoped project activities and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain client relationships and support the business, balancing and driving both the client’s and site requirements.
  • Take the lead on general office administration duties as well as remaining flexible to additional ad hoc office-based task requirements.
  • Work with the existing office administrator to ensure there is always cover provided.
  • Schedule client visits and ensure logistics, conference rooms are aligned and sufficiently prepared.
  • Support the global business relationship with key accounts through understanding the client’s organization and business needs to ensure overall approach is client centric versus site centric.
  • Identify the decision structure related to product supply and third-party manufacturing and develop an understanding for execution and implementation of supply agreements.
  • Assist in the development of annual site revenue budget.
  • Understand client financial processes, resolve issues alongside site financial department such as escalation of overdue invoices.
  • Liaise with Project leads and technical teams to track revenue milestones and perform monthly invoicing accordingly.

Candidate Profile

  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical development activities and processes. API Development is advantageous but not essential.
  • Understanding of revenue impact to business and the importance of project delivery.
  • Experience in working with a cross-functional team who are not direct reports.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to listen and leverage the skills and knowledge of the project team while challenging them to achieve the best possible result for the customer and business.
  • Provide strategic commercial outlook with consideration to the impact of tactical decisions to the business.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with confidence to be the face of the business with customers.
  • Resilient, resourceful, and self-sufficient.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
