Pharmaron is currently looking to recruit a Senior Synthetic Chemist who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to work at their Cardiff site. In this role, you will be responsible for the synthesis and purification of radiolabelled compounds and the development and redesign of synthetic routes. You will have an excellent working knowledge of organic synthesis, preferably gained within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:- The synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled compounds within agreed timeframes.
- Perform in-process analytical testing.
- Develop and redesign synthetic routes.
- Liaise and build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to future cost estimate generation.
- Where appropriate, project management and support/mentor colleagues.
- PhD in Organic Chemistry.
- Multi-year industrial experience is essential in a range of synthetic organic chemistry on lab scale with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience of chromatographic techniques, both analytical and preparative.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team working skills.
- Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work.
- Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
