About the Role

Pharmaron is currently recruiting a Chemist to join the Chemistry team in Cardiff, supporting the preparation and manufacture of labelled compounds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong chemistry background who enjoys practical laboratory work, problem‑solving and contributing to high‑quality scientific outputs. You will support business and client requirements by applying your technical knowledge and practical skills to the manufacture of labelled compounds, while working as part of a collaborative and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare labelled compounds and support manufacturing activities.
  • Perform standard preparations and assist with technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop safe, effective and isotope‑efficient synthetic routes.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and project reports.
  • Support continuous improvement, safety and waste management processes.
  • Contribute to technical discussions with internal teams and clients.
  • Work in line with company policies, procedures and SOPs.

Candidate Profile

  • We are looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Chemist with a strong scientific background and a collaborative approach.
  • BSc in Chemistry with relevant industrial experience; PhD or equivalent experience desirable.
  • Experience in radiosynthesis and/or custom synthesis advantageous.
  • Good communication, problem‑solving and time management skills.
  • Awareness of radiation protection advantageous, Process COSHH and safe laboratory practices.
  • Meticulous approach to laboratory work, documentation and reporting.
  • Proactive, collaborative and committed to continuous learning.
