We are based in Hertfordshire, in the town of Hoddesdon. The Hoddesdon campus has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery team, and a newly formed Formulation Development department. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), formulation development and process chemistry. The Process Chemistry team in the UK provides leading R&D, GMP and API services to our international clients. Having recently undergone a period of growth, we are looking for a Materials Maintenance Supervisor leading a team of four to provide hands-on supervisory and administrative support to Materials Management.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Supervising the operations of GMP cleaning and supporting the teams across two on-site production facilities.
  • Setting up and partial dismantling of production equipment for cleaning or maintenance.
  • Ensure that equipment and areas are available for use to meet production schedules.
  • Directing staff across facilities when required to meet production requirements.
  • Interacting with technical staff for scheduling and equipment requirements.
  • Ensuring that cGMP and safety standards are observed at all times.
  • Assisting with the provision and development of training for the team.
  • Supporting the Materials Management department’s higher functions, e.g. process / document improvements.
Qualification
  • High School or equivalent.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a pharmaceutical, food or chemical manufacturing setting.
  • Supervisory experience.
Desirable Requirements:
  • A technical qualification would be desirable.
  • Previous experience of GMP.
  • Chemical safety and handling.
  • Previous experience of 5S and Lean methodologies.
  • Experience in communicating and building relationships with internal customers.
