Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 Location: Thorpe Park, Leeds Leeds (Hybrid, 2 days in office + occasional travel)

We work on a core hours principle - our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00 and you can flexibly work around this to suit you!

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition & Development (Maternity Cover - 9 Month FTC) to drive the delivery of our end-to-end talent agenda across attraction, development, succession and workforce capability.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role will be responsible for leading the operational delivery and continuous improvement of talent acquisition, learning and development, and talent management initiatives.

You will play a key role in shaping a high-quality people experience, ensuring Pharmacy2U attracts, develops and retains high-performing colleagues and builds capability for future growth.

Requirements

  • Talent Acquisition & Employer Brand
  • Lead the delivery of an effective, high-quality recruitment function aligned to business needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to deliver strong hiring outcomes, ensuring key metrics are achieved, including:
  • Average time to hire under 30 days
  • Reduction in agency spend
  • High candidate satisfaction scores
  • Support the implementation of a skills-based hiring approach, embedding consistent assessment frameworks and selection standards.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for key and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Support the development and promotion of the employer brand to position Pharmacy2U as an employer of choice.
  • Lead salary banding and pay review activity, partnering with People and Finance teams.
  • Learning, Development & Capability
  • Lead the design and delivery of core Learning & Development initiatives aligned to business priorities.
  • Implement a blended learning approach including formal training, coaching and digital learning.
  • Support the development of capability frameworks across key functions.
  • Create and maintain development pathways that support career progression and internal mobility.

Skills Frameworks & Career Development

  • Support the development and maintenance of skills frameworks and career pathways.
  • Help embed consistent approaches to assessing skills and capability across the organisation.
  • Talent Management & Succession
  • Support the delivery of the organisation’s talent management framework.
  • Lead bi-annual succession review processes, including 9-box reviews.
  • Workforce Planning & Organisational Capability
  • Partner with business leaders to support workforce planning and capability discussions.
  • Use data and insight to inform hiring and development priorities.
  • Contribute to annual pay review and salary benchmarking activity.
  • Work closely with Finance and People teams to support people cost planning and decision-making.
  • People Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Use data to track and improve recruitment, development and talent outcomes.
  • Produce regular reporting and insights for stakeholders.
