As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Commercial Accountants, ensuring all areas of the business, including newly acquired companies, receive high-quality financial insight to drive growth, efficiency and profitability. You will play a key role in supporting the Finance Director and CFO as the business continues to scale rapidly, operating in a fast-paced, ambitious and data-driven environment. You will act as a strategic finance partner to key stakeholders and budget holders across the organisation, providing real-time forecasting, insightful performance commentary and clear recommendations that influence decision-making. You will also support the scoping and financial modelling of new projects and initiatives, ensuring proposals are robust, commercially sound and aligned with business objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in a similar commercial finance leadership role, with the strategic mindset and analytical capability to deliver insights that shape the company’s financial performance and future growth.
What you’ll be doing?
- Lead the design, development and ongoing enhancement of detailed financial models to forecast business performance and provide clear, insightful variance analysis to budget holders
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting to support a fast-growing, data-driven organisation
- Maintain a deep understanding of the key commercial and operational drivers across the business, monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve growth, efficiency and profitability
- Analyse trends and performance in real time, delivering clear recommendations to senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making
- Support commercial tenders and new business initiatives by ensuring all proposals are fully scoped, accurately modelled and financially robust
- Lead the budgeting and reforecasting cycles, ensuring commercial plans are aligned with financial targets and strategic priorities
- Contribute to M&A activity by building business cases, modelling prospective acquisitions and supporting integration planning
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organisation, including regular interaction with the Senior Leadership Team
- Ensure robust financial controls, policies and governance are upheld within commercial finance processes
- Provide high-quality financial insight and support to the CFO and Finance Director on strategic and operational priorities
- Lead, coach and develop a small team of Commercial Accountants, providing clear direction, supporting skills growth and ensuring high-quality output during periods of rapid business change
Who are we looking for?
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong blend of commercial and technical accounting experience
- Highly proficient in advanced Excel, with the ability to build, manipulate and interpret complex financial models and large datasets
- Proven experience leading, managing and developing a finance team, including coaching, performance management and supporting team members through periods of growth and change
- Strong understanding of key commercial drivers in a subscription, healthcare, or e-commerce environment
- Knowledge of financial controls and governance frameworks
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Understanding of tendering, pricing, and commercial evaluation processes
- Knowledge of data analysis tools or BI platforms
