Dispensing Assistants support the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescriptions in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring that prescriptions are processed to high standards, performance targets are met, and daily workflow runs smoothly to support patient safety and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Dispense all prescriptions received each day with accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the clinical team with day‑to‑day operational tasks.
- Follow dispensary procedures and meet internal quality and accuracy targets.
- Work effectively in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.
- Meet individual and team performance targets to support business objectives.
- Take ownership of prescription labelling and ensure accuracy at all times.
- Collaborate with key teams across the business, including customer service, purchasing, operations, and pharmacists.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and inclusive working environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must hold an NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant qualification.
- Confident with numbers and comfortable using IT systems.
- Able to prioritise workload, stay organised, and work accurately under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, proactivity, and a positive approach to problem‑solving.
- Experience working in a highly accurate, fast‑paced environment.
- Familiar with working to legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
