What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure all database platforms are highly available.
- Ensure all data sources are secure, with access controlled, reviewed and audited.
- Support BI developers, application experts and middleware developers in integrating and reporting on accurate data.
- Work with third parties for new installations, upgrades, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and general guidance to meet requirements.
- Respond to support escalations from DevOps and technical colleagues, providing specific troubleshooting expertise.
- Build strong relationships in the business to understand objectives, data requirements and demonstrate data value.
- Control execution of data management tasks.
- Configure, maintain and maximise proactive monitoring using tools such as Redgate and New Relic.
- Populate and maintain software development lifecycle environments.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience with SQL Server 2019 and Azure SQL.
- Proven ability as a Database Administrator in a similar role.
- Strong operations experience in troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
- Experience of performance tuning and optimisation.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft T‑SQL.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using native and third‑party performance monitoring tools such as Redgate SQL Monitor and New Relic.
