What you'll be doing?
- Sourcing and managing several categories (paper and plastic) + branded drugs
- Building strong relationships with suppliers & managing performance reviews, monitoring quality and service levels
- Analysing market data and trends, raw material prices and external factors affecting commodities to minimise exposure & make informed buying decisions
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure sites are fit for purpose & have the right packaging for the right order & resolve any issues
- Maintain accurate supplier, price, and specification data
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and NPD activities
- Support ESG initiatives
- Support aligned categories within a branded environment, as and when required (Weight Loss/Brand deals/Wholesale supply comparisons)
Who are we looking for?
- Experience in a buying role, within retail or supplier base
- GAP training preferred but not essential
- Ability to use Excel at intermediate level (VLOOKUPS, PIVOTS, calculations, sort and filter, etc.)
- Experience negotiating effectively with suppliers
- Experience in the pharmacy industry is preferred but not essential
- Experience of working in a pressured environment, delivering against tight deadlines
- Experience of working with a portfolio of suppliers
