The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Please note any UK location can be considered with multiple roles available and whilst territories are decided upon. Working within a newly built Medical Affairs team, the (Senior) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will drive pre-launch/launch focused field medical activities for a new treatment for Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG), with two indications to bring to market. This will include a high level of proactive external engagement to establish our client’s presence within a new therapy area.

It is essential that the successful candidate builds and maintains strong relationships with healthcare professionals across their allocated territory and as a subject matter expert provides scientific support, training, and advice to cross functional teams internally. This is a major new launch for the business and we can therefore only consider candidates with UK MSL experience and with a background in and network of Lipids experts, Cardiologists, Chemical Pathologists, and Cardiometabolic KOLs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be a field medical expert in sHTG
  • Identify and establish relationships with new HCPs, KOLs and Academic Researchers
  • Ensure high-quality and balanced scientific exchange
  • Delivery of medical education, updates and gathering of insights from HCPs
  • Identify and share relevant insights with medical and cross-functional teams
  • Discover and communicate emerging gaps in diagnosis, treatment access and unmet needs
  • Recognize opportunities for, and provide advice on Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Support Research & Evidence Generation efforts
  • Focus on patient outcomes, develop local guidelines to support the use of the company’s products
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs and medical compliance
  • Work with office-based colleagues in Medical and Brand teams, as well as other field-based colleagues, to provide scientific support and education for the company’s products
  • Represent the business and medical team at local, regional and global congress and symposia
The Candidate:
  • Medical, Pharmacy or life sciences degree level background
  • Experience as an MSL in the UK life science industry is essential
  • Therapy area experience in Lipid Management, Rare Lipid Disorders, Cardiovascular medicine, Cardiometabolic or related therapeutic areas is required
  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining KOL relationships
  • Excellent scientific communication skills
  • Highly engaging, collaborative, and proactive mindset
  • Driving license and ability to travel circa 3-4 days per week
