Role purpose
Make a difference as a Youth Development and Grants Manager.
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make a real impact by helping us grow and deliver outstanding Youth Services. In this role, you’ll take the lead on grant development and governance, ensuring our programmes are built on strong, sustainable foundations. You’ll bring your qualified youth work expertise into programme design, embedding best practice at every stage and supporting the rollout of exciting youth initiatives and contracts.
Your frontline knowledge will be key to creating high-quality, compliant funding applications that secure the resources we need to thrive. You’ll help us translate strategy into action, building youth provision that not only meets today’s needs but creates lasting social impact for the future.
This is your chance to shape services that empower young people, work with a team that values collaboration and innovation, and play a vital role in delivering programmes that truly change lives.
Responsibilities
- A recognised Level 6 Youth Work qualification (JNC-aligned) or an equivalent professional youth work qualification or qualified by experience.
- Solid experience in frontline youth work, with a strong understanding of youth development principles, safeguarding, and youth participation.
- A proven track record in writing successful grant applications for trusts, foundations, or statutory funders within the youth or voluntary sector.
- Experience working in the third sector, social enterprise, or charitable environment, helping to develop or grow youth-focused provision.
- Familiarity with structures like Community Interest Companies (CICs), Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs), or charities, and experience managing grant governance—covering compliance, reporting, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining funder relationships.
- Practical experience in designing, developing, or rolling out youth programmes, ensuring they align with youth work practice and funder requirements.
A place to thrive
Be a part of a company that values excellence and personal advancement. We will prioritise your professional growth with tailored career development opportunities, mentorship programmes and ongoing training.
No matter your background, ethnicity, age, neurodivergence or anything else… PGL is a place to be yourself, realise your full potential and celebrate what makes you brilliantly unique.
Benefits
- Happy holidays – 25 days annual leave, which accrues with length of service up to 30 days (+ bank holidays). You’ll also enjoy an extra day off on your birthday and the opportunity to purchase additional leave.
- Paid time-off to volunteer your time to worthwhile causes.
- Sector leading family friendly policies and a contributory pension.
- 24/7 access to our Wellbeing Hub alongside our Employee Assistance Program.
- Access to our financial wellbeing platform for financial support if you need it.
- Big savings and exclusive perks at 100s of high street retailers.
- PGL discounted holidays and 20% discount in all our on-site shops.
